The end of motion, on to change.

Today was our last lesson from the "Exploring Motion" unit.  We have been exploring motion for a few months.  Today we wrapped it up by learning about how weight can change the force and momentum of something.  In this case we used a bucket on a string and filled it with weighty objects, such as bean bags.  The students had a blast pushing, pulling, throwing, and even kicking the bucket (no pun intended).

This picture below is a real testament to the drive and progress of my awesome students.  This little girl began our class spending most days in her wheel chair.  She has become extremely self-motivated and driven to walk and move around on her own.  As you can see here she is standing completely independent of any support.  She was so engrossed in the lesson and making the bucket move that she let go of my hand and stood on her own for almost a minute.

How's that for exploring motion?
Up next is "Exploring Change".
